Admin note – membership update and England Athletics

You may have seen a recent email “England Athletics Athlete Registration 2021/2022” from England Athletics, so we thought it was worth explaining the timing of 2021/22 Helsby Running Club membership renewal and its link to EA athlete registration.

The Helsby RC renewal emails will be issued in May 2021 just after our AGM (date to be announced) as usual. These emails will contain a payment link that will cover your Helsby Running Club membership, your England Athletics athlete registration and your Helsby Community Sports Club membership. Therefore, once you pay, all three will be covered for 2021/22 season.

We (Helsby RC) wait until our AGM to do the renewals so that if necessary, the membership fees can be changed. That seems unlikely in 2021 but there may be an adjustment to age-related discounts to match a change made by HCSC in 2020, which may affect a few. As you were registered as an athlete with England Athletics in 2020/21, you will remain as such until the end of August 2021 even if you don’t renew.

In summary:

• you don’t need to do anything now
• you will get a renewal email in May from the club, and we hope that you choose to renew at that time
• you will remain a Helsby RC member, EA registered athlete, and HCSC member between now and then
